As Principal of her eponymous firm, Stephanie Nickolson Design, Inc., Stephanie celebrates over 37 years in the interior design field. She leverages her creativity, product knowledge and design skills in the successful collaboration with the finest architects, contractors and builders. She learned to appreciate fine art at an early age as her father was an artist and art dealer on the north shore. She then went on to continue her education of art history and interior design at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. After receiving her BS degree in Interior Design, she established her firm in 1986.
Stephanie Nickolson Design, Inc. is a full service residential and commercial interior design firm with a sub-specialty in hospitality design including hotel, restaurant, banquet hall and health + wellness centers.
We want to take away the stress from you getting bogged down with details as we smoothly and methodically coordinate your project, creating spaces that put you in your comfort zone; whether it be relaxing in a spa room, enjoying happy hour in your home bar, taking a nap in a serene bedroom or enjoying a movie in your theater room. We creatively design each space for these surroundings to be welcomed and enjoyed.
I see the design process as a total collaboration with my team of professionals and each client. Initially, we start with a vision and overall architectural design concept, which then unfolds, a process I refer to as ‘layering’ an interior. We recognize and celebrate what each professional brings to a project with each phase. All of the furnishings and elements seamlessly mesh together, specializing in the art of infusing natural materials, textures and lighting in this process to create warmth, depth and exciting sensory experiences in each space.
